Many of us ignore the mind-body-spirit connection. After all, it's easier take medication and keep going. Maybe you don't believe in doctors or pills. You try to make it on your own with self-help books or complementary treatment like acupuncture, massage and such. They help, but there's still a lingering problem.
​
I believe in all of these tools – neuroscience, biology, eastern and western medicine, the power of the mind, and the energy of the universe. ​My role is helping you use these tools to create lasting change.

What modes of therapy are used?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - It's a mouthful. But it means that we work with the body-heart-mind connections. What we think influences what we feel and how we approach the world. How we feel definitely impacts our actions and reactions. And our actions can influence what we feel and think too. So, we work with all three to shift how you view the world.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - This structured modality uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) while the client briefly focuses on a trauma memory. EMDR is extensively researched as effective for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and those suffering trauma symptoms. Additional studies also show use in helping reduce or relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other symptoms. EMDR can be used for "Big T" as well as "Little T" trauma events. I was fully trained in EMDR in 2020 and continue education through EMDRIA trainers.

Mindfulness - Yup! There's that word again. Not just meditation, mindfulness helps us feel more connected with ourselves, with those around us, and with that which is beyond us. We also work with relaxation techniques to help you turn down your stress reactions.

Spiritual connection - Who knew?! Studies are showing spiritual practices improve outcomes. People yearn to connect to a larger Being – known by many names such as the Source of All Love, God, Spirit, Allah, the Universe, Jesus, Yahweh, the I Am, and so on.
That's it?
Nope, there are techniques from any of a number of other branches of psychotherapy. Some are pulled from Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other modalities. But, tools really only count for part of our success.

My gift? I see through all of those shells, the old hurts and fears, and the stories you believed. I help you excavate, discover and energize. I hold up the mirror that shows ALL of you. Creating sacred space for you to work in and heal is THE BEST part of my work.
